As the Business Strategy Manager for Electricity Transmission (ET) you will provide strategic support to ET Executive Team, ensuring continued focus on our future horizons for the next five, ten and fifteen years.

You will work with and alongside key members of the ET Executive Team to evolve the Business Strategy, during a period of significant industry change, and update the strategic roadmap to deliver our performance goals and wider commitments to Net Zero, including the decarbonisation of heat and transportation.

This role is based in Warwick, occasional travel will be required.

Key Accountabilities Include:

  • Collate market insights (of key news articles, government publications, consultation documents) and develop a robust market insights knowledge repository, which is translated into plain English to engage effectively across the ET Business in a timely way.
  • Undertake a continual review and assessment of organisational capabilities and supporting the implementation of processes that improve organisational effectiveness and build a sustainable competitive advantage, ultimately and building an efficient, agile and successful ET Business.
  • Assist ET Exec Team to manage stakeholder relationships and lead on the development of responses to external publications and strategic input into internal governance processes (QPR, Quarterly Digest) as and when required.
  • Establish effective collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders and customers and build strategic recommendations based on emerging trends, best practice, strategic opportunities and competitive threats, ensuring alignment to overall UK and NG strategic objectives and wider Corporate Strategy.
  • Work across the business to ensure that the ET Strategy is well understood and that employees at all levels of the business can relate their everyday work to the strategic objectives within.
  • Ensure that ET employees truly engage with, and understand the role they play, in achieving the strategy
  • Manage, coach & support a team of up to five direct reports.
About You
  • Extensive experience engaging with senior and executive stakeholders, both internally and externally
  • Experience of either Corporate or Business Strategy development and implementation
  • Comprehensive knowledge of both the UK and Electricity Transmission businesses
  • Working effectively and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Excellent soft skills in addition to strong leadershipskills
  • A degree is desirable or equivalent experience in relation to Business Strategy

What Youll Get

A competitive salary between £61,500 £77,000 dependent on experience

As well as your base salary, you will receive a company car or allowance, a bonus of up to 20% of your salary for stretch performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
