Senior Process Engineer (Azerbaijan Nationals Only) in AZE-BK-Baku, Not Specified


Reports to:

•       Lead Process Engineer for

-      Project assignments and weekly tasks.

-      Career development issues and training.

•       Project Engineer or Project Manager on assigned projects for weekly targets, when acting as Lead Process Engineer for specific RFSs


Responsible for:

•       Personal safety and safe working practices

•       Preparation and checking of Process Engineering deliverables in accordance with scope of work, and relevant codes and standards, and company quality management procedures

•       Working proactively with other team members to resolve technical issues

•       Learning to lead the discipline for small projects including:

-      workscope evaluation and manhour estimating

-      scheduling and planning, then managing self and possibly others to meet deadlines

managing project change and managing relationships with the client.


Job Specific:

For assigned projects, work with limited supervision to:

•      Prepare the Process Design Criteria prior to the commencement of engineering activities

•      Perform and/or check others Process Engineering calculations and simulations

•      Check process drawings and ensure consistency, compliance and elegance

•    Provide input to studies and/or act as checker and provide ideas for improving the process design

•      Contribute process input at technical meetings with client personnel

•    Provide process input at safety reviews, HAZOP, LOPA, What-If, HAZID, SIL reviews, peer reviews etc.

•      Raise Technical Queries to confirm preferential solutions or changes to the basis of design

•      Manage relationships with client process engineers

•      Provide Process input on Inter-discipline Checks of deliverables from other disciplines

•      Contribute to reviews of the 3D piping model and equipment layout reviews

•      Provide Process input during Tender Bid Evaluation

•      Provide Process review of vendor data

Assist the Lead Process Engineer to coach, mentor and encourage younger engineers, particularly by contributing to departmental training lectures.

Undertake research and self-training in order to continuously improve technical skills and depth of knowledge especially regarding emerging technologies.


Simulation:

Be capable of originating Hysys models and checking simple Hysys models produced by others.

Be sufficiently familiar with Aspen Flare Analyzer (Flarenet), HTFS (S&T and Air Coolers), and Pipenet to perform modelling and interpret the outputs.

Experience:


Required: 

  • Substantial experience in the Oil & Gas industry and/or Petrochemical Industry, performing Process Engineering design for large multinational oil and gas companies as clients


Guide:

  • A minimum of 4 years in the industry, or a minimum of 4 years specifically in Process Engineering design of upstream, midstream or refinery process units and utilities.


Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent, preferably from an institution recognised by the IChemE as being suitable to enable progress to Member status.  Other potentially acceptable qualifications are B. Tech. (Chem. Eng) or equivalent.
  • Holds or has evidence of working towards Chartered Member of IChemE which should be applied for within the first 2 years after engagement by Worley.
