About the role

We are looking for a dynamic Customer Service Representative to be based in Chicago, IL. The Customer Service Representative is fundamental to our organization.

This role is responsible for safe and efficient delivery of products mine to market. This role takes sales, tolling, and procurement contracts from sales managers and ensures on-time delivery of the product to the customer or operations. This role manages production disruptions, quality deviations, and customer issues. The role proactively manages the customer portfolio and to ensure transparent commercial commitments, decision making, and option analysis.

 The Customer Service Representative role is a great opportunity for an experienced Professional to ensure that the needs of the Borates customers are met. The Customer Service Representative will proactively manage the tensions that emerge over conflicting priorities on the basis of managing a best for business outcome. Reporting to the Customer Service Manager of the Americas, you will:

  • Be the voice of the Customer/ Customer Advocate/ Customer Centric
  • Support Sales, Supply Chain, Logistics, & Leadership to define, build, and improve strategy and meet service level targets & KPIs.   
  • Communicate issues with customers and work with relevant parties to minimize impact
  • Coordinate physical delivery with the logistics team and provide customers with delivery notifications
  • Create sales orders and contracts in SAP
  • Managed an assigned customer base ensuring all customer orders are proceed efficiently and shipped on time. 

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor Degree
  • Minimum of  3 years customer service in a manufacturing environment  
  • Previous experience with multi-national companies
  • Language: English
  • Commercial & Business acumen
  • Strong problem solving, strategic and analytical capability
  • Effective communication skills
  • Effective time management and personal organizational skills
  • Demonstrate an open minded genuine curiosity towards understanding the needs of business and the impact of applied solutions
  • Able to work in a team environment & able to take constructive feedback
  • Strong distribution and logistics knowledge
  • Sound organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Prior ERP experience required, SAP preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft office skills- Familiarity with EXCEL functions
