Occupational Health Nurse/Nurse Practitioner in Cold Lake, AB, CA, Canada

Job description

An exciting opportunity exists for a skilled Occupational Health Nurse/Nurse Practitioner at our Cold Lake Operation, located in Cold Lake, Alberta. Imperial's Occupational Health services are fully integrated to provide fitness for work determination, health surveillance and clinical disability case management. In this position, you will provide support for the delivery of Imperial's Occupational Health programs and services to the Cold Lake workforce.


Note: Orientation for this position will take place in Imperial headquarters in Calgary, AB, for a duration of up to twelve (12) months. Following completion of orientation, the candidate will relocate to Cold Lake, AB. 

Qualifications
Academic:

  • Nursing degree or Advanced Nursing degree
  • Current or eligible for unrestricted registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA)
  • Certification in Occupational Health Nursing in Canada (COHN(C)) is preferred
  • Familiarity with clinical health risk assessment, fitness for work determination, and periodic health assessments
  • Occupational health experience desirable
    • Knowledge of provincial OH&S legislation
    • Exposure assessments
    • Industrial hygiene is an asset
  • Current certification in spirometry and audiometric testing is preferred
  • Current certification in First Aid, AED, CPR

 
Other:

  • Minimum 3 years of related experience preferred
  • Strong clinical, interpersonal, analytical, planning skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word; SharePoint and electronic medical record usage is an asset
  • Valid driver's license and a safe driving record

Eligibility to work in Canada
