Equipment Manager in Batangas, CALABARZON, Philippines
JOB OBJECTIVE:
The Senior Manager for Equipment shall be responsible for planning, coordinating and directing the operations of all equipment for effective maintenance and repair programs, equipment safety programs and equipment use on company job sites.
Lead the site Maintenance function in providing both a reactive and proactive, multi-skilled maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure under the purview of Maintenance Department.
Responsible for planned scheduling creation and overseeing the adherence and timely completion of maintenance work carried out. Increase the site operational effectiveness, improve on project delivery, mean time between failure and downtime reduction, and manage and implement improvement plans, driving Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to. Manage the team on technical best practice and establish standard policies and procedures whilst also mentoring and leading the department. Implement and manage continuous improvement by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in equipment, training, working practices and processes.
He shall also be the Technical Advisor on all equipment issues and shall assist the Management Team in the preparation of equipment budget and potential equipment purchases.
SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintains and ensures compliance with all HSE objectives with regards to equipment maintenance, operations, environmental and other essential responsibilities within the department both within yards and on any AG&P job sites with applicable equipment deployments
Collaborates with the Yards Manager on strategic planning, setting up goals and establishing policies and procedures to achieve organizational objectives.
Defines the potential deliverables and availability of resources taking into account additional cost on outsourcing & procurements needs, should resources are not available.
Effectively delegate any maintenance issues to be resolved on each shift and small projects to the right skills in the team, planning and managing effective works
Approves and oversees the equipment maintenance activities of heavy and light equipment category such as crane units (i.e. mobile/crawler cranes); and other earth moving machineries, forklifts, generators, welding machines, compressors and other portable mechanical equipment.
Ensure routine calibration and maintenance requirements of a variety of electro-mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems are undertaken
Manage the process of disposal of obsolete machinery, plant and equipment from gaining agreement to write off to physically removing it and its safe and lawful disposal
Manage the process of the introduction of new machinery, plant and equipment from drawing up the specification, to managing suppliers through to full installation in collaboration with all relevant parties
Ensures safe delivery and endorsement of Equipment to in-house, project and client customers of the Yard.
Assists with staff development, training and maintenance by reviewing resource needs and market demands to properly plan and assess the feasibility of projects.
Provides guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
Prepares the Equipment Department budget in relation for Maintenance and equipment deployment
Reviews and approves of repair costs, alterations, maintenance parts and consumables against purchasing estimate and proposal in order to promote operational efficiency & energy conservation.
Directs, supervises and approves assessments of equipment for repair versus outsourcing, procurement or replacement
Oversees the maintenance, operations and necessary tasks associated with Equipment Maintenance Shops
Oversees the implementation of Preventive Maintenance System
Ensure Weekly and Monthly Equipment Availability Reports are distributed to Senior Management for allocation and assignments
Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:
Licensed Mechanical Engineer
Bachelor’s Degree preferably Engineering discipline.
At least ten (10) years of experience in a leadership/management role
At least fifteen (15) years extensive experience in equipment operations in a construction, oil & gas, mining and/or other similar sectors.
