Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking a GIS Specialist. The position will support analysis and mapping on a variety of projects for public and private sector clients, particularly for water resources and environment sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform GIS database development, qualitative/quantitative analysis, and mapping as a member of various water resources and environmental services project teams
• Produce detailed, high-quality cartographic products (digital and hardcopy) and accompanying reports in accordance with technical guidelines and client needs
• Communicate with project team members and other stakeholders to define data needs, project requirements, and desired outputs
• Compile, manipulate, and refine geographic data from a variety of sources including public domain, field collection, satellite imagery, aerial/ortho photos, and existing maps
• Perform regular quality control checks of GIS data and non-spatial databases with minimal supervision to ensure data integrity
• Manage individual projects tasks related to GIS, database design and management, data visualization and analysis, and metadata creation
• Customize GIS workflow and software programs for data collection, engineering, and environmental applications

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

Required

• 0 2 years of GIS experience
• Post-secondary training in GIS
• Proficiency using Esri ArcGIS software
• Experience in producing high-quality mapping projects
• GIS analysis (problem solving) skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Resourceful and self-motivated

Preferred

• Customization of GIS software using Python
• Experience with ArcGIS Pro, Collector for ArcGIS, and Survey123
