Overall Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
- Work with key clients to develop strategies that align with our clients needs and ensure alignment of expectations;
- Work with client teams to continue the development of our environmental assessment portfolio (i.e. Phase I/Phase II ESAs in urban and industrial environments);
- Support the Liability Management and Remediation Team in the development and delivery of the national strategy;
- Work with clients and project managers on key project strategy, innovation, and regulatory/stakeholder affairs;
- Provide technical direction to junior and intermediate staff on routine and technically challenging projects;
- Provide technical mentoring and career development opportunities for staff;
- Review technical reports and design drawings to ensure high quality work;
- Support project managers in solving difficult technical and regulatory challenges and present solutions to clients/regulators; and
- Liaise effectively with client teams, environmental technical experts and project staff to ensure project solutions are appropriately tailored to the clients objectives.
Qualifications
- B.Sc./M.Sc. or B.Eng./M.Eng. degrees from an accredited institution in the discipline of environmental science/engineering
- 15 years of experience
- Member of a professional organization in Alberta (i.e. P.Eng., P.Geo., or P.Bio.)
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent organizational, technical writing and communication skills; presentation skills are an asset
- Technical expertise in environmental assessment planning
- Experience in technical mentoring and training of junior and intermediate staff
- A high level of business development and customer focus.
