Leap29 have a fantastic opportunity which is available in Indonesia for Business Development Manager or Country Manager (Depending on the seniority of the candidate). The position is to secure new projects for development in Indonesia as well as the sales of wind turbine products.

Responsibilities:
This position is for the Indonesia market to identify and progress Project opportunities and sales opportunities that support the growth of the wind energy business in Indonesia.

The purpose of the role, is to:
• Be responsible for managing all operations within Indonesia.
• May include being in charge of many areas of the business such as moving services, global mobility and records management.
• Agreeing annual budgets and producing a detailed annual business operating plan.
• To produce business performance reports, which could be on a monthly or quarterly basis.
• Recruit and manage staff in Indonesia, including performance monitoring, and possibly mentoring and training.

The role is client facing and so daily contact with clients is a big part of this role, therefore the ability to communicate effectively is essential:
• Prepare costings for projects to be ready for construction, including achieving financial close, securing partners and funding and off-take arrangements.
• Work with the stakeholders on scope / cost / timing / risk of projects in the context of company objectives.
• Representing business in Indonesia.
• Securing financially attractive project opportunities that provide a pipeline of projects to grow and diversify the business in Indonesia.
• Developing appropriate business case material used to gain budget approvals and delegated authority approval.

The scope of the role covers:
• General management of all aspects of the Indonesian operations
• Market analysis, gathering of industry knowledge and participation in key industry forums;
• Development of effective relationships with potential renewable energy project customers in Indonesia, primarily wind turbines.
• Development of effective relationships with stakeholders in the industry including (but not limited to), the Indonesian national electricity company (PLN), the local regencies (Kabupaten), the Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mining resources (ESDM) and other government authorities.
• Development of effective relationships with service providers including (but not limited to), onshore logistics suppliers, onshore installers, local BOP companies, local consultants providing legal, engineering, taxation support.
• Management of bids in response to requests for expressions of interest (EOI) and/or requests for proposals (RFP);
• Preparation of projects for construction, including tendering, cost estimating, engaging specialists to perform design or site investigation and development of project documentation (e.g. management plans, schedules etc).
• Research and Develop plans for the WTG Installation and logistics at current & future projects;
• Develop, issue and assess project tender and contractual documentation;
• Negotiate (within the guidelines set by relevant managers) renewable energy project supply contracts (EPC, TSA or other) and warranty operation and maintenance (WOM) agreements
• Liaise with clients, wind farm developers, construction contractors, landowners and community members as projects require to adequately complete the required elements;
• Any other duties, within your competency, required by your manager.

Key Accountabilities:
• Stakeholder Management
• Develop professional relationships with government bodies like PLN to ensure company is highly visible as a wind turbine supplier in Indonesia
• Raise profile in Indonesia via participations in conferences and public speaking slots
• Manage all company operations including office setup, keeping Indonesian registrations which includes regular tax reporting.
• Work with local partners to structure construction and operations management delivery in Indonesia

Promotion and Marketing:
• Develop effective relationships with wind turbine and hybrid RE project customers;
• Identify sales opportunities;
• Maintain a sales information system;
• Prepare & present to customers, information on products;
• Coordinate customer visits to sites:
• Local: wind farms
• headquarters & factories;
• Promote company as a wind turbine supplier in Indonesia
• Actively promote business through participation in key industry forums; and key industry associations.

Sales:
• Implement the sales plan;
• Report on progress to plan;
• Respond to requests for expression of interest as wind turbine supplier;
• Prepare wind turbine supply bids in response to requests for proposals;
• Attend site visits to prospective sales projects;
• Manage customer clarifications process;
• Monitor the market for changes in government policy;

Support Investment Activity:
• Prepare wind turbine supply pricing for investment activities; and,
• If required, assist in the preparation of business cases for investment projects.

Performance & Business Management
• Provide regular reports on performance - specifically on sales activities;
• Provide relevant sales and market information to International as requested from time to time;
• Contribute to annual business plans;
• Assist the Management from time to time with strategic initiatives to achieve objectives;

Apply sound project management practices to the delivery of assigned responsibilities and projects:
Work in accordance with;
• Established practices and systems
• Recognised project management best practice (PMBOK, Prince2 etc)
• Manage relationships and interfaces between stakeholders including clients, contractors, service providers and government agencies to achieve project objectives.
• Manage the cost/ time/ resourcing/ quality/ risk of projects according to available company processes

Contract Management:
Apply your commercial acumen to the negotiation and management of the following;
• EPC, TSA, Warranty contracts
• Contracts for Construction (EPC, D&C, JV, Alliances etc.)
• Connection Agreements, Consultancy Agreements
• Acquisition, Partnering, Funding or Financing Agreements

Throughout the Contract life cycle from contractor selection, appointment, ongoing management through to close out.

Compliance, Safety, OH&S and Environmental and Risk Management:
• Attendee require safety and OH&S training courses as required;
• Assist with ensuring operational activities comply with relevant environmental, occupational health and safety and other legislative requirements. This includes compliance with relevant statutes and regulations.
• Work and behave in a manner that demonstrates leadership and commitment to Environment, Health & Safety.

Project Analysis and Selection
• Analyse and select projects for development, investment and acquisition;
• Working in cooperation with the Commercial Manager, Legal Counsel and other staff
• Using market knowledge and industry knowledge from within the team

Project Development assistance to key customers where necessary:
• Apply your knowledge of project development requirements to development activities that include the following;
• CAPEX, OPEX, program and other inputs into financial model.
• Development Approvals
• Risk Management
• Sourcing Funding (Debt, Grants and Equity
• Grid Connection and Offtake Arrangements
• Land and Neighbour agreements
• Stakeholder Management
Project Objectives:
• Prepare assigned projects for construction according to company objectives:
• High quality community engagement
• Project planning that includes pre-construction requirements
• Clear interfaces for construction (eg defined layouts, clear specifications, landowner conditions, grid interfaces)

Qualifications, experience and capabilities:
• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Business/Commercial discipline.
• Experience in the Wind energy or power industry.
• Specific experience in Indonesian wind power (or power) development or wind turbine (or power equipment) sales in Indonesia.

The role requires:
• Strong interpersonal skills and business acumen;
• Ability to negotiate contracts;
• Ability to work effectively in a cross cultural environment;
• Ability to analyse the financial viability of wind projects and the implications of wind turbine price and other factors.
